Hi everyone!

Julia Jergens: After taking the Political Typology Quiz provided on Blackboard, I am considered an "Opportunity Democrat", but I would consider myself more in the middle between opposing views of liberals and conservatives. Being that I have never been too interested in politics, I wouldn't consider myself to have any major political influences. My political experiences are little to none. I have recently turned 18 and have just registered to vote, and have yet to actually do so. To be honest, I took this class for the credit, but even just after the first lecture I am already loving the course and am truly excited to learn, even though I have never really enjoyed government classes prior to this course. I am excited to learn more about politics and the subject as a whole in this class so that I can be more engaged and aware of current events going on around me. Even after one class, I can easily tell that I will be able to learn and think about government in new ways than I have before. As far as the "Civic Literacy" and the "Current Event" quizzes, I scored a 70% on both of them, which honestly was better than I had expected!
